iMockups: some minor issues, workarounds & upcoming update

On 03, Apr 2010 | One Comment | In endloop | By ken

Well we finally got our hands on an iPad and installed iMockups to quickly go through it.

We found some small initial issues so we’ll list them below w/ suggested workarounds. Don’t worry, we’re hard at work on an immediate update to be submitted this weekend.

Please use comments below to submit any issues you’ve encountered that isn’t on this list.

Issues:
————
1) **palette is in the middle of the screen when in landscape mode**

- this is because we’re not detecting the correct ‘face up’ landscape orientation.
- workaround is to hold iPad in vertical position in landscape (like in front of your face) then use the Lock Orientation switch to keep it in landscape mode.
- note: you may need to switch to Portrait orientation then back to Landscape to reset the palette location before doing the LOCK.

- will be fixed in 1st update

2) **panning and zooming is jittery **

- this issue us caused by differences in our simulator and the real iPad

- will be fixed in 1st update

3) ** project view swiping is wacky **

- another sensitivity issue

- will be fixed in 1st update

4) ** bizarre random crashes **

- we are trying to track these down.. seems like a TON of other apps crash too so we’re not sure if it’s OS related, we’re trying to reach Apple for more info.

- rest assured, iMockups SAVES your data VERY OFTEN

- will be fixed in 1st update if this is not an OS issue that is common to other apps.

Thanks everyone for your patience while we get an update out ASAP.

Please use the comments section below to report any further issues and we’ll prioritize them as we get them.

Thanks for your patience and support, we’re committed to making iMockups the best it can be.

  • Low fidelity mockups helps you, your team and your clients focus on functionality and flow.

  • The gorgeous interface not only makes it a joy to look and touch, it’s designed to let you work the way you want. Panels easily slide out of the way when you don’t need them.
  • Collaborate and discuss your designs quickly and easily with full-screen Presentation mode.
  • Supports multiple projects and multiple pages per project keep your projects organized
  • Full content creation and editing controls like Undo, Redo, Cut, Copy, Paste and Zoom.
  • Expect fast and furious updates that include new controls and features.

And a special treat, the image you see is a look at an alternate theme (work in progress) we’re putting together for a post-launch update (you’ll be able to select this theme instead of default if you desire).

More info to come soon as we finalize the new features for post-launch update!

Thanks,
Ken

Sorry we didn’t have a chance to properly blog about this but we’ve been coding like madmen for awhile now.

A full blog post is forthcoming but in the meantime, check out our preview video of iMockups

Bankshot Ad-Free & Bankshot reviews!

On 17, Feb 2010 | No Comments | In Personal | By garry

Bankshot

Bankshot

We’ve just released Bankshot Ad-Free, which is essentially the same game as Bankshot but, well, without ads! We didn’t think ads bothered anyone (they don’t bother us), but you spoke and we listened, so now we’ve made an ad-free option available. It’s available on the App Store now!

Also, if you’re still not convinced it’s fun, check out these reviews:
TUAW.com

Bankshot delivers a quick hit of fun.
It’s fun, it’s easy, and it’s the perfect kind of game to just pull up and play when you only need a few minutes of distraction.
If you want a quick arcade hit to play during your next few iPhone breaks, definitely pick it up.

Like TRON, Paper Toss or Air Hockey? Check out the Bankshot game, its fun and free!
From time to time I sit and waste some time playing games on my iPhone, but given that I am far from a gamer the games I play are simple. I prefer the ones that you can pick up and put down with ease such as Bejewled, Peggle, TapTap, LED Football and Flight Control. I am also pretty cheap when it comes to purchasing games.
Given that I was happy to discover a new game called Bankshot. And it hit me right from the description…
